Face Painting Ideas
Face painting is a popular activity during parties and during occasions like Halloween. It involves the application of cosmetic paint on the face and making it as creative as possible. When face painting, it is important to know what kind of paint is ideal to use for the face. Take note that acrylic and tempera paints cannot be used on the face as they can cause allergic reactions in some people. They can also damage the skin permanently. Kids and adults alike love face painting but it is perhaps more enjoyable for kids to paint their faces.
Cartoon characters are popular for kids. They love having the face of their favourite cartoon character painted on their faces. This is ideal for Halloween and is a good substitute for a mask. Kids who want to dress up as clowns, normally just paint their faces white with red lipstick as this is usually how clowns are portrayed. Cat faces are one of the most popular face painting ideas for kids as it is easy and fast to make and kids usually love it. Superhero designs are also popular on kids, especially little boys. Perhaps the easiest superhero to copy when face painting is Spiderman as all you need is red, white and black paint. Other designs that are popular are butterflies, dogs, rabbits and other animals.
When painting, especially on kids faces, it would be ideal to just make use of water based make up as it is usually safer. Since make up is designed especially for use on the face, you can be assured that there is little risk of allergic reactions. Remember that the skin on the face is more sensitive that the skin on other parts of the body. Body paint is not even recommended for use on the face. It is also important to note that children have more sensitive skin than adults.
This has been a tradition even during ancient times. It was used for religious and cultural ceremonies and rituals. It is also used in the military for camouflage purposes. Face painting has a lot of uses and using them for fun and costumes is just one among its many uses.
Choosing face painting ideas for kids is easy. You just have to ask them what they want and then look for a pattern on the Internet and copy it. You don't have to be a professional artist just to paint a face. Face painting makes Halloween extra fun for children. They love that they can draw on their faces as this is something they can't normally do on regular days.
If you really want your kids to have fun on Halloween, let them paint their faces on their own as this allows them to unleash their creativity. There are a lot of face painting ideas for kids and the options are endless. Sometimes you don't even have to research, just let your child create the design he or she wants.

Body Paintings Hot Pictures 2011
Were we to make a list of the main post-Impressionist painters, the name of Paul Gauguin would be on top of the list. He is known for his innovative and bold experimental use of colors.
But the prime thing that made Paul Gauguin such a renowned artist was his capability to understand the inherent meaning of the subjects he painted. He caught the very meaning of the subjects he painted; and then he uploaded that onto the canvas, expressing the same with his impressionist style of painting.
The subject of painting human body has remained the most beautiful and perfect subject for depiction of their artistic prowess. The artists since the ages have exploited this subject and the human form through its depiction in their paintings. The human body, especially nude female body is a subject of first choice among the artists for the element of mysterious allure. But very few of these artists have done perfect justice to the natural beauty of woman's body as the master painter Paul Gauguin has done through his artistic nude paintings.
Many painters have spent their entire life painting nude bodies of the female models. They respected and adored the women sitting for them; and they tried hard to beautify their looks. These painters tried laboriously for injecting liveliness into the portraits of the nude females they painted. The great painters from the time of renaissance have done much artistic endeavors to immortalize a simple smile on the face of the beautiful women or the alluring curves of the bodies of those fatal dames. Numbers of painters have used this subject of painting natural beauties of women, but very few have succeeded in the job as Paul Gauguin.

Body Painting Art
American artist Craig Tracy from New Orleans has created a collection that could be regarded as some of the best body painting in the world. Some of his paintings use only human volunteers while on others he merges them with backdrops to give the display depth. Some of his creations are so complex it’s difficult to work out where the bodies start and the background begins like the below “leopard” one.
The creature’s eyes, cheeks and chin have been painted onto the floor while the back of a female volunteer forms the rest of its face – her bottom is used as the big cat’s nose and top lip.
To create painting, he needs to spends up to nine hours painstakingly applying water-based paint to his volunteers’ bodies before photographing them in unique poses.

Famous Body Paintings
Frederick Leighton born in 1830 was a British painter. His paintings covered variety of subject ranging from depiction of historical events to biblical mythology. He painted many frames that could be stamped as classical paintings, too. Leighton had a big group of followers. Queen Victoria was among those who praised and purchased his paintings. The painting titled as Icarus and Daedalus had been one of the most famous artworks done by him. It is based on the mythological story of Daedalus
Frederick had master the art of figurative painting. The figurative painting as a genre and the figurative painters as a class of artists have never been sailing easily. They faced a lot at the hands of religious heads, the rulers, general public, and some sections of art-lovers, too. But the genre has not only survived; it has flourished. And the artist like Frederick Leighton had made it so thriving along with others; as his paintings revealed the true spirit of Victorian period. He took pride in painting the events of ancient Greece and Rome
Frederick would also choose subject that could bear the sensual appeal to the eyes of viewers. Such variety of subject has mad his style of painting so simple. One of his paintings titled as Actaea depicted the cloth-less woman, a nymph. In this painting the woman is reclining on seashore. In Greek mythology, the nymphs are the female spirits. These nymphs have remained subject of many painters who desired to paint sensual skin. In such paintings the artists also want showing the power of female figure putting it before the eyes of viewer.
Figurative painting reflects deep understanding of the artist doing it, as it is depiction of the anatomy of human body. In addition to that an artist tries to show the emotions through such paintings, as it could reveal the psyche of the person painted or portrayed, too. The master artists do so in the gentlest manner possible, as figurative painting would also require recreations of the gestures of the model. By doing so, a painter like Frederick Leighton would forge his reputation as an artist
Frederick was master in depiction such sensual gestures of women without clothes in his paintings. The painting of a female without clothes is always subjected to personal interpretation of a painter, so far as her depicted form is concerned. Even the postures of female models tell inherent tales. Even the moods revealed by the postures and gestures of bare-body female models depicted in a painting tend to be an exclusive interpretation of an artist
